The William Upton House is another cultural hot spot in Sterling Heights, and is an excellent example of 19th century architecture composed in the Italianate style. The site is also on the National Register of Historic Places, a Michigan Historical Landmark and sits on a 136 acres near City Hall.
For active residents, the Clinton River Trail System - which runs directly through Sterling Heights - is an excellent way to traverse the region. Spanning more than 460 acres, the trail system weaves its way through Dodge Park, Farmstead Park and Clinton River Park North.
