Allied Van Lines Drivers Recognized by the American Moving & Storage Association for Lifetime Achievement and Rookie of the Year Awards

Allied Van Lines, one of the nation’s leading moving companies announced today that two of its drivers were recognized as part of the 2019 Super Van Operator Awards by the American Moving & Storage Association. The American Moving & Storage Association annually honors the nation’s top moving and storage company truck and van drivers. The winners chosen exemplify the best of the best in providing safe and reliable truck transportation.

The winning Allied drivers are:

  • Frank Russell of Morton Grove, IL, of Reebie Storage & Moving wins the Lifetime Achievement Award: Frank began his career in 1975 and has driven almost 2.7 million miles in a commercial motor vehicle in his lifetime while not recording a single accident or moving violation. Russell has won numerous industry awards; Allied Driver of the Year in 2018, an Allied Van Lines Master Mover award for outstanding performance in customer service, safety and hauling with zero claims in each year from 1997 through 2019. In 2019, he was also honored with a 40 Year Safe Driving Award.
  • Alvaro Vasquez II of Tucson, AZ of Atlas Transfer & Storage wins Rookie of the Year: Alvaro began his career in 2014 and has already driven almost 400,000 miles in a commercial motor vehicle while not recording a single accident. Since 2015, he has been awarded the Allied Van Lines Driver of the Month three times. In addition, he is an Allied Van Lines Master Mover for outstanding performance in customer service, safety and hauling with zero claims. Vasquez sponsors and mentors a local community football team for 10- to 12-year old kids. He and his wife also volunteer with Special Olympics Arizona.

This is the 10th year Allied Van Lines agents have been given the American Moving & Storage Association’s Super Van Operator Award, ranging in categories such as the Lifetime Achievement to Rookie of the Year. In 2018, Robert Greer won the award for the Household Goods category.
