  Iowa Moving Companies

When you relocate to Iowa, you get to be a part of the "American Heartland". Bordered by the Mississippi River on the east, the Missouri River, and the Big Sioux River on the west, it is the only U.S. state that’s eastern and western borders are formed entirely by rivers.  Iowa, nicknamed the Hawkeye State, has been listed as one of the safest states to live in.  Iowa’s terrain consists of several lakes, tall grass, rolling hills, and some forests and wetlands.  Its borders near the Mississippi River features steep hills and valleys which appear almost mountainous.  The state has typical Midwestern climate with an average annual temperature of 50 °F and cold, snowy winters.  Some notable people from Iowa include Elijah Wood, Buffalo Bill, William Frawley, and Ann Landers.

Iowa has several distinct regions for you to choose as your new home.  Des Moines is the largest city in the state and the capital, and is located in Central Iowa.  Many presidential candidates set up campaign headquarters in Des Moines, because the city is home to the first caucuses of the presidential primary cycle.  The nearby Madison County has the well-known Roseman Covered Bridge that was featured in the Clint Eastwood movie The Bridges of Madison County, based on the popular novel of the same name.  The movie was filmed on location there.

The Eastern Iowa region has many vibrant historic districts and landmarks, such as the Old Capital Building in Iowa City.  The Cedar Rapids Museum of Art has collections of paintings by Grant Wood and Marvin Cone.  The Herbert Hoover National Historic Site and Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum can be visited in West Branch.

Western Iowa has remarkable scenery such as Loess Hills and the Iowa Great Lakes.  Several fine resorts are situated in this area.  Sioux City, located in this region of Iowa, is full of history and has a collection of museums, art centers, and theaters.

Northern Iowa is part of the Driftless Area, a region in the American Midwest noted mainly for its deeply carved river valleys.  The city of Dubuque is a regional tourist destination with attractions such as the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium and the Port of Dubuque.  In Dyersville, you will find the infamous baseball diamond from the movie Field of Dreams.  Contact Allied today and we can get you started on your move to Iowa.

Allied Van Lines

They were really good. The care the pick up crew did when they loaded the truck. Allied came out and looked at it and they let me know what they can pack and what I can pack. Personal Touch to things. The delivery was delayed a week, but that was ok with me.

Basically the care that they showed on all of our house hold goods and the courtesy. They could not have been a nicer crew. They did some assembling for us during the unloading and it was excellent. Colt did the assembling of a dining room table and bed, he did a wonderful job and showed a lot of care with it.

Satisfaction. It was a good move. They did everything they said they were going to do. There was good communication. We just wondered about the date and time they would be here. The man was accurate with the time and everything

I think b/c in this day and age of computers sometimes communication gets lost and it didn't get lost. Everything I wanted they did. Everyone was respctful, professional and did an excellent job. Kevin the driver was excellent and his crew was good. I was most pleased. He was polite, on time and efficient. Richard the sells rep was excellent as well.

The driver, Chris Casasanta, and his helpers Ray and Chris were amazing, The estimator, Dennis Piedra, was wonderful I already recommended him to some friends. Wendy and the other packers forgot to pack three of our items, one being a tobacco basket and they told me they couldn't get a box for that, but the driver was kind enough to take it with him.
