Many moving companies talk about quality, but Allied is one of the few that takes the time to quantify it and build on an already-solid reputation.

In 1995, we researched the factors that are most responsible for customer satisfaction during a household move and developed our Quality Service Audit (QSA) -- a comprehensive customer service survey that is conducted by a third party. Based on the information we have gathered from the QSA, we’ve not only improved our customer service, but have also developed several new quality-enhancing programs to help us deliver even more value with every household move. Some of these programs include:

Quality Alliance

Allied Van Lines’ Quality Alliance is a team of drivers, agents and other employees who work together to help us maintain quality and improve in every service we offer. Toward that end, the Alliance has developed and put in place a comprehensive set of quality standards unrivaled in the moving industry.

Allied University

Allied drivers are specially trained at our 3,000 square foot Allied University campus in the proper techniques of maneuvering furniture and loading a truck. Courses include customer service, safety and equipment standards. All Allied drivers attend an intensive three-day session that combines classroom education with hands-on moving instruction.

Allied Master Movers

Once our drivers are trained, they don’t stop there -- we motivate them to continue learning and improving, just as we do all our staff. To earn the title of Allied Master Mover, a driver must meet 10 standards -- including completing two years of service, ranking in the top percentage of all our drivers based on number of claims and performance on customer service survey scores, and completing our Master Moving School.

In the Master Moving School, drivers get a better understanding of what they can do to improve their performance on an ongoing basis. They learn more about quality development, customer service, operations, shipment processing, safety, pricing, the fleet ranking process and more. Upon achieving Master Mover status, each driver must re-qualify each year.

Professional Driver Development Program

In this five-day program, drivers reinforce important skills such as loading and unloading techniques, preparation of paperwork, claim prevention, and communication and customer service skills.

Equipment Standards

Allied’s quality standards require that every vehicle must be inspected daily by its driver and undergo a formal inspection once a year. In addition, each vehicle must be clean inside and out, with an acceptable appearance at all times.

With all the quality programs listed above, Allied Van Lines strives to provide the best and safest move for each customer. These measures make moving more efficient and help ensure that every move is a quality move -- and that makes moving more enjoyable for the customer.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY...

For the most part they did what they said they would do. The ppl involved were extremely courteous and customer service oriented. One of the requests was not followed through. I haven't completed unpacking.

I know that things get damaged during moving and if the make good on replacing my things I will give them an eight and if they do not I will drop the rating down to a seven. Some of the things the packers pack were damaged.

I had to do a lot of communication. Also I had to know what and where things would go and keep in contact with people. But they were flexible with my hours. The driver was held up in traffic but I had to call him. The driver actually helped me it was not Allied initially.

I was happy but there was a few hiccups along the way. They did not call me before they arrived in Seattle. Three boxes were not marked. They did make it to my destination. I was expected they would call me before they picked up.

The ease of packing most influenced my rating. I didn't do anything. They took care of pretty much everything. The local agent was also the mover. I was told that I have unpacking as part of my package. The crew was reluctant to unpack. I have a disability. There were some communication issues.

The fact they came out when they said would to load and unload. They stuck with price. They did break some items, but they paid for them but I would rather not have broken it at all.
