Caspar Collins who was killed in the 1865 Battle of the Platte Bridge Station. The site is now on the National Register of Historic Places, and the fort was partially reconstructed as a museum. It features log buildings, a wooden stockade, and in December history comes to life as a group portrays the 3rd U.S. Infantry reenactment.
Head to the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center to learn about the many National Historic Trails that have, or still go, through Casper through programs, exhibits, multimedia presentations and special events.
