Pet Friendly Spots in Singapore

Pets have earned their places in any family. An animal companion can be hugely beneficial to your lives, so it’s no surprise you want to spend as much time as possible with them. If you’re moving to Singapore and are concerned about exploring your new home with your furry friend by your side, you will be glad to know that there are entertaining places where you will both be welcome.

Pet Expo

Pet Expo has become an annual tradition for pet lovers. The event provides the ideal opportunity to stock up and spoil your pet with treats and accessories. Dogs are welcome to attend with their owners and there are special areas for them to mingle and do their business. There are plenty of activities scheduled during the expo and animal charities are invited so they can receive donations.

Cafés and Restaurants

There are plenty of dining establishments in Singapore that won’t mind if your dog is by your side while you eat. You will usually be asked to sit outside and most places will provide a bowl of fresh water for them.

Dog Cafés

Unlike other establishments, these pet-centric cafés allow you to dine with your dog indoors and off the leash. They have room for dogs to play and be social, while they offer food options for humans and dogs. Some of the best-known places include Paws N Pans, Sun Ray Café, Happenstance Café and Ulu Ulu Pet Café. The last one also has a temporary swimming pool for dogs.

Parks

Dogs are welcome in most outdoor areas in Singapore, however, they must be on a leash at all times. If you wish to give your furry friend time to run around, visit a park with designated areas for dogs. Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park has more than 3km of space for dogs to play. Other dog-friendly parks include West Coast Park, Sembawang Park and Tampines Central Park. Remember to visit The Animal Resort Off-Leash Park, it covers more than two hectares of land in which your dog will find plenty of adventures.

Pet Swimming

If you’re moving to Singapore from a beachside location, whereby your pet is used to diving into the ocean you’ll need to find somewhere in Singapore for your dog to take a dip. Fortunately, there are suitable places for them to cool down in the hot Singaporean heat. Sunny Heights is one of them and they offer daycare, boarding and grooming services as well. This establishment is located on Turf Club Road and the dog-friendly swimming pool allows them to roam and play freely with other animals. Another option is the Canine Wellness & Rehab Centre, which is the perfect place for dogs to benefit from hydrotherapy. Other swimming pools for dogs can be found at Mutts & Mittens and The Wagington pet hotel offering all sorts of doggy pampering services. And, of course, there is the sea. Tanjong Beach in Sentosa is a great spot for dogs to go swimming and play in the sand in the great outdoors.
