Allied Van Lines, one of the nation’s leading moving companies, has joined Susan G. Komen, the world’s leading breast cancer organization, to help bring an end to breast cancer. Allied began its life-changing partnership with Susan G. Komen last year and has mobilized its national network of agencies to raise $80,280 to support the fight against breast cancer.
Every two minutes a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer and this year alone over 287,800 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in the U.S. This vicious disease not only affects the families and communities Allied serves, breast cancer personally affects its network of agents. Allied is proud to engage its network of agents to provide hope and help families fighting breast cancer to keep moving.
Berger Moving & Storage, an Allied agent based in Roseville, Minnesota, committed to doubling the impact of Allied’s donations by matching the donations of its fellow agents throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Berger’s generosity has helped Allied exceed its annual goal and is helping fund Susan G. Komen’s research, advocacy efforts, and provide lifesaving support to women and families fighting breast cancer.
Reliable Van & Storage, an Allied agent based in New Jersey, is in the fight against breast cancer and hosted its own fundraiser to raise funds to meet Susan G. Komen’s critical needs in the community. Bailey’s Moving & Storage, Reebie Storage & Moving, Hansen Bros. Moving & Storage, and Atlas Transfer & Storage have led the way in contributions, helping Allied exceed its first-year goal.
“Allied is deeply committed to Susan G. Komen’s mission and is proud to engage our network of agents to help us move toward a cure,” said Steven McKenna, Vice President and General Manager for Allied Van Lines. “Throughout our 90+ year history, Allied has made it clear we aren’t just a moving company. Caring for the communities we serve is built into our DNA, and we are proud to partner with Susan G. Komen to unite together to end breast cancer and help make an impact in the communities we proudly serve across the country.”
In honor of Black History Month, Allied is committed to supporting Susan G. Komen the Stand for H.E.R. – a Health Equity Revolution. Stand for H.E.R. is Susan G. Komen’s initiative to address the racial inequities of breast cancer.
The breast health inequities that Black women in the U.S. experience are a social imperative that calls for collective action. Black women are about 40% more likely to die from breast cancer than white women.
Susan G. Komen is working to address the racial inequities of breast cancer by ensuring equitable access to high-quality health care, increasing diversity in patient services, addressing cultural barriers, and funding research to identify the causes of racial disparity in outcomes.
“We are grateful for Allied Van Lines and their agents who help to make our support of the breast cancer community possible,” said Sarah Rosales, Komen’s VP, Corporate Partnerships. “As a trusted health care partner for breast cancer patients, survivors and their support systems across the country, together we will invest in a better future while ensuring people can access much-needed, high-quality breast cancer care, regardless of where they live or the financial resources they have.” Learn more about Allied’s partnership with Susan G.
