5 Easy Ways To Get Your Home Holiday Ready

by Shannon Steinberg on Nov 16, 2021

The holidays are quickly approaching and while it can be a wonderful time of year, it’s also a busy time of year. It can seem overwhelming so it’s important to remember to take your time and have a plan. Lucky for you, we are here to help eliminate some of that stress.

  1. Turn on the Holiday Ambiance
  2. Nothing makes a home cozier than a cup of hot cocoa and some festive touches. Add some decorations to really spruce up the space, (or help hide a couple of moving boxes if you’re just getting settled in). Make sure your home is inviting for any guests you may invite over. Scent is powerful and a seasonal candle can set the whole mood in a matter of seconds. Even the smallest touches can make all the difference.

  3. Build a Fire
  4. If you are one of the lucky ones whose home includes a fireplace, make sure you put it to good use. Before all of your guests arrive make sure it works properly, no one likes excessive smoke. Load up on firewood early. Not only is it useful, but it makes for great home décor as well.

  5. Get the Kitchen Ready
  6. You just moved in, we know. A lot of time is going to be spent in the kitchen between cooking and eating all those delicious holiday treats, so it is important that it is well cleaned and fully stocked. Make sure you are prepared with all the plates and silverware needed for any events. After all, the kitchen is the heart of the home so focus on getting it set up for the holidays before any other areas.

  7. Focus on High Traffic Areas
  8. Getting everything unpacked and put away is great, but sometimes it doesn’t always work out that way. And since the holidays are already stressful enough, don’t be too hard on yourself. Try focusing on high traffic areas like the bathroom, hallway, living room, and kitchen. These are the spaces your guest will be in the most and will be paying the most attention to. Make sure there is no excessive clutter and try adding a few decorations that will catch their eye. Even if you just have a couple of picture frames it really elevates the space.

  9. Remember to Relax and Enjoy
  10. Now that your home is ready for the holidays, it is time for you to take a step back and relax. Cuddle up by the fireplace, read a book, listen to your favorite holiday music, whatever makes you feel at peace. There is no better way to spend the holiday season than making new memories with your loved ones. Take a look at all that you’ve created in your home and enjoy it.
