Allied Van Lines and ABC-TV’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Help the Harris Sextuplet Family Get Dream House
CHICAGO, February 1, 2005 — While the stork made a special delivery to the Harris family two years ago in the form of sextuplets, Allied Van Lines’ agent Bonded Transportation of Birmingham, Inc., will help deliver the house of their dreams as part of ABC’s hit show, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Bonded will move the nine-person Harris family out of their home in record time today. The Harris family has understandably outgrown their modest home, which was also damaged by a fallen tree in a recent storm. Their possessions will be stored by Bonded for a week while their home is renovated and repaired, and then Bonded will move the family back into their new house.
“Birmingham has always rallied to support the Harris sextuplets,” said Jeff Hual, executive vice president of Bonded Transportation of Birmingham, Inc. “With the opportunity provided by Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Allied is proud to move this family into a home they so desperately need.”
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition changes the lives of a family in challenging circumstances, completely renovating their home in seven days. The team, led by Ty Pennington, consists of designers, contractors and hundreds of workers who rebuild the family’s home - interior, exterior and landscaping included.
Past episodes have chronicled the team enlarging a home for a couple expecting triplets, rebuilding a home for eight children who lost their parents, and making a home more accessible for a wheelchair-bound young man.
This is the fifth time an Allied Van Lines agent will be participating in Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Allied has recently participated in episodes taking place in Seattle, Los Angeles and Atlanta.
