L.A. Family to Have “Moving Experience” as Allied Van Lines and ABC-TV’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Prepare New Abode
Beverly Hills Transfer and Storage Packs and Moves Entire Home in Less Than Four Hours
CHICAGO, December 6, 2004 — Allied Van Lines rolled into L.A. yesterday to create a happy ending for one deserving family’s moving story – a new home. As part of ABC’s hit show, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Beverly Hills Transfer and Storage will move and store the Anderson family’s belongings as their damaged home is renovated. This will be the second time an Allied Van Lines agent has moved a family for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. In November, Continental Van Lines helped move a Seattle family for an episode that will air in 2005.
Beverly Hills Transfer and Storage provided 16 professional movers and packers to sort all the family’s items and transport them to storage – in less than four hours. Then, as the house renovation is completed seven days later, Beverly Hills Transfer will move the family back into their South Central L.A. home.
Each episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition changes the lives of a family in challenging circumstances, completely renovating their home in seven days. The team, led by carpenter Ty Pennington, consists of designers, contractors and hundreds of workers who rebuild the family’s home - interior, exterior and landscaping included.
Past episodes have chronicled the team enlarging a home for a couple expecting triplets, rebuilding a home for eight children who lost their parents, and making a home more accessible for a wheelchair-bound young man.
The episode featuring the Anderson family is scheduled to air during the 2005 season.
“It’s exciting to be part of such a great event. We’re happy to help out someone who could use a hand while doing what we enjoy and have done for years,” said Frank Rolapp, President of Beverly Hills Transfer and Storage.
